Admiral of the Fleet Sir Edward ASHMORE GCB DSC RN was born in December, 1919 and his career is well covered in his book “The Battle and the Breeze”. He and his younger brother, Sir Peter, were sons of Vice Admiral L C Ashmore CB DSO.
